Ebony was recently diagnosed with endometriosis and hopes that by sharing her journey, other young women will learn what to look out for, and what is and isn’t normal when it comes to period pains. She discusses the things she finds most frustrating about endometriosis, like the fact that there’s no cure, that she’ll require surgical procedures every couple of years and that it could possibly make her infertile.

Ebony talks about how her doctor dismissed her symptoms and that even after having an ultrasound, she was told she didn’t have the disease. Eventually, she persuaded her doctor to refer her for a laparoscopy to determine if she had endometriosis.
