According to Endometriosis.org, there are many places in the pelvic cavity where endometriosis lesions can be found. The most common places are:

  • Ovaries
  • Fallopian tubes
  • Pelvic sidewall (peritoneum)
  • Pouch of Douglas
  • Rectal-vaginal septum
  • Cul-de-sac
  • Uterosacral ligaments

 

Although not as common, lesions can also be found on:

  • Laparoscopy/laparotomy scars
  • Caesarian-section scars
  • Bladder
  • Intestines, colon, appendix, and rectum
  • Bowel
