According to Endometriosis.org, there are many places in the pelvic cavity where endometriosis lesions can be found. The most common places are:
- Ovaries
- Fallopian tubes
- Pelvic sidewall (peritoneum)
- Pouch of Douglas
- Rectal-vaginal septum
- Cul-de-sac
- Uterosacral ligaments
Although not as common, lesions can also be found on:
- Laparoscopy/laparotomy scars
- Caesarian-section scars
- Bladder
- Intestines, colon, appendix, and rectum
- Bowel
