A Brief Explanation of Endometriosis

This short video from Elara Systems gives a brief overview of endometriosis. The film explains that endometriosis occurs when tissue from the uterus migrates outside the uterus and attaches itself to other parts of the reproductive system. In some cases, it also attaches to the bladder, intestines and pelvic wall forming painful lesions.

The main symptom of the disease is intense pain. Although there is no cure for the disease, there are treatments available that differ depending on how severe the endometriosis is. For mild cases, home remedies like heating pads may ease the pain, while more moderate cases can be controlled using contraceptive pills. For severe cases, the lesions will need to be removed by a surgeon.
